Chromesthesia
Kids today will never experience the joy and excitement of hearing the sound of dial up internet actually connecting.

How is dial up joyful? It’s not joyful. It’s annoying.

Though I do wish I was better at meeting people, sometimes the net does make it easier to encounter people I would not meet in real life. So it’s a useful tool like anything

They will also never experience the 5 minute waits for pages to load and the two hours you had to prepare for if you wanted to masturbate to internet porn via Kazaa.
I am happy people don’t go through that much anymore.  Although, my dad’s girlfriend still has dial-up, and it’s a constant reminder of how shitty it once was.  Haha.

YouTube will be our kid’s MTV.
MySpace and Facebook will be their playgrounds.
Their phones will become the new Barbies and Hot Wheels; new things to play with at recess.

The internet is making it a reality that people will someday never have to directly associate with one another.  THAT is scary, to me.  Way more scarier than waiting for dial-up to connect.
